Attempting Something New

With the change of the season, Tommy and I made the same trip many people do when the weather begins to warm...Home Depot. I wanted to get an indoor plant to put on the table by the front door and it was more difficult than I thought. The table doesn't get a lot of sun, needs to be cat resistant and not need lots of water. I tend to forget watering. What did we come up with?

The plant in the back is called a jade. It will have white blossoms in the winter which I thought would add a nice touch in the middle of a flowerless season.

The other three are various types of cacti. The small front one is very sharp and the thornes are like little hooks that grab whatever comes close. It was not easy planting!

We got the planter at Home Depot also. All in all it was successful but I never thought I would buy prickly desert plants. Koshka has sniffed around but not smelled anything worth checking out. And I'm enjoying not watering every week.
